On the basis of your work in Luxembourg, you are entitled to:
- child benefits;
- the age increase;
- the back-to-school allowance;
- the special supplementary allowance;
- the prenatal allowance and birth allowance. These are strictly reserved for mothers, i.e. female cross-border workers. No entitlement is available on the basis of the spouse's work in Luxembourg. However, the postnatal allowance can be claimed by a male or female employee.
Please note: unlike other benefits, there are rules against overlapping birth allowances. Therefore, if you are entitled to a birth grant in your country of residence, you should apply and claim your rights there. If you receive a birth grant, there is no difference between the three parts of the Luxembourg birth allowance.
