Models

Here are the different models of parental leave that are available to you depending on the number of hours indicated on your employment contract at the time of notification of parental leave to your employer.

 

Please note:If your full-time employment contract changes between the date of notification and the start of parental leave, your entitlement will be reviewed again. For this, you will need to send us a new application. Please inform us as soon as possible of any changes to your contract.

 

You work 40 hours per week. You can choose from the following models:

  • Full-time leave of 4 or 6 months
  • Half-time leave for 8 or 12 months
  • Split leave: 4 months over a maximum period of 20 months
  • Split leave: 1 day per week for 20 months

Please note: in order to be eligible for split leave, you must be working full time at the time you notify your employer of your request. For the calculation of income, however, the average of the 12 months preceding the parental leave is taken into account.

 

You work 20 or more hours a week. You can choose from the following models:

  • Full-time leave of 4 or 6 months
  • Half-time leave for 8 or 12 months
 

You work 10 hours per week. You can choose from the following models:

Full-time leave of 4 or 6 months

 

You are on an apprenticeship contract. You can choose from the following models:

Full-time leave of 4 or 6 months

 

Please note: if you have several employers, you can only opt for full-time parental leave of 4 or 6 months. This provision also applies if you are jointly affiliated as an employee and a self-employed person, for example (= 2 different employers).
