Following the adoption of the bill reforming family allowances, several changes will come into effect on 1 January 2027.
- The basic monthly family allowance will increase by €45.
- The monthly age-related supplement for children aged 12 and over will increase by €15.
- The annual back-to-school allowance, paid in August, will increase by €60 for children aged 6 and over and by €90 for children aged 12 and over.
- The additional special allowance, the back-to-school allowance and all three instalments of the birth allowance (prenatal, birth and postnatal) will become subject to automatic indexation, as it is already the case for the family allowance and age-related supplements.
