The conditions of attribution must be met:
- when applying for parental leave;
- at the start of parental leave;
- in principle without interruption for at least 12 continuous months immediately prior to the start of the parental leave;
- for the duration of the parental leav.
If the conditions are met, the second parental leave starts on the date requested by the parent concerned and indicated on the application form. If both parents want to take their parental leave at the same time, they should indicate in their respective applications which parent wishes to take the first leave and which parent wishes to take the second parental leave. In the absence of agreement between the parents, the first parental leave goes to the parent whose surname is first in alphabetical order.
